TRAVELING

Long trip on Interstate 80, but we arrive in Omaha around 2:00pm. The squishy little guy is just up from a nap and very excited to see us--only, he's very shy at first until I mention presents. He chooses a piece of trick-or-treat candy and then gets a cowboy hat from Austin. Later after JE arrives home from work, he opens the blue ukulele we got for him in Kaua'i. He is thrilled beyond measure! Dazzled. He LOVES blue, and he LOVES guitars. He knows most of the words to several songs and proceeds to serenade us with The B-I-B-L-E , Davy Crockett, and Clementine.

After MA leaves for his flight to Louisville, JA asks if there are any more presents... I send him into the guest room to find the LarryBoy and the Angry Eyebrows video that we've heard will help him with managing his anger (the 2-1/2 year old variety) and with learning forgiveness--which is very important as LE is becoming more mobile every day.

LE gets so excited at times she virtually wrings her little hands! Her smile is almost never ending, and JA is her best entertainment. She's learning to say m-m-m-m when she eats, and to respond to "How big?" and "So big!"

We were bad with road food (McDonald's for breakfast and Culver's ice cream instead of lunch) and continue the pattern by going out for pizza at the Pizza Shoppe. JA loves pizza and eats as much as I do! We like the pizza here and it has a good vibe for families with small fries--especially if you arrive early.
