Too Cute Not to Post

First day of kindergarten for LE. She's so ready.

Our very precious sweetheart. Generous, kind, loving, verbal, creative, imaginative. Leads easily and fairly. Lover of all things pink and shiny. Strongly prefers dresses. Consummate hostess and party planner.

Lucy. 5 years, 5 months.

Shown here with LC (3 years, one month). He owes it all (mostly) to her!

Lucy and Levi (aka Pottyman)

On Friday we observed her on the trampoline with LC. He was being bossy and demanding as he was anxious to demonstrate his sommersault flips (amazing!). He crossed some definitive boundry with her, as she very effectively and quietly body-checked him.
He deserved it. She scared herself and immediately demonstrated remorse (or acted like she was remorseful, depending on your perspective and experience).

I was shocked. And, also quite proud to see her stand up for herself. High fives!!!!!

Do You Make Your Bed Everyday?

I wish I did. I LOVE climbing into a crisply-made bed. But, sometimes I'm lazy, on-the-run. Distracted.

Both CA and I will make the bed if we've been home alone all day and have accomplished nothing tangible. Somehow wanting to give the other an opposite impression. When the bed is made, it just looks like you've been organized and industrious.

My side...

CA's less cluttered side...

Both night stands are thrift shop finds. CA's fancy grey, 2-drawer is actually one deep drawer, which I love. He has room to hide his stuff.

Mine was $5, and lovingly painted by CA. I like having the lower shelf, so I can separate the now from the later.

Comfort from Mom

One of my sisters forwarded this to me tonight. My mom (deceased since 1998) had sent it to comfort her many years ago. Perfect! Words straight from heaven and mom.

Sit still, my daughter! Just sit quietly still!
Nor deem these days---these waiting days---as ill!
The One who loves thee best, who plans thy way,
Hath not forgotten thy great need today!
And, if He waits, 'tis sure He waits to prove
To thee, His tender Child, His heart's deep love.

Sit still, my daughter! Just sit calmly still!
Thou longest much to know thy dear Lord's will!
While anxious thoughts would almost steal their way
Corrodingly within, because of his delay---
Persuade thyself in simple faith to rest
That He, who knows and loves, will do the best.

Sit still, my daughter! Just sit calmly still!
Nor move one step, not even one, until
His way hath opened. Then, ah then, how sweet!

Trilogy

Always enjoy a dialogue-rich movie. Before Sunrise is set in Vienna--one night in 1995.

Part 2, Before Sunset, picks up the story of Celine and Jesse 9 years later--2004--in Paris. If you'd ever wondered about their plan to meet in 6 months, December 16th, in Vienna...

Just released (May 24), Before Midnight, Part 3, is set in Greece.

I've just watched Before Sunrise and Before Sunset. Hoping to find Before Midnight at a nearby theater tonight or tomorrow.

These are not action films. Mostly dialogue, with important cities as a vague backdrop.
