We ate the salad and have only these ingredients as evidence of Mary Lou’s Taco Salad
Just realized that I’ve never published our favorite Taco Salad recipe. This is the third recipe in my list that features our longtime friend: Mary Lou’s Taco Salad.
Mary Lou’s Taco Salad
1lb. Ground beef
2T. Taco Seasonings
1lb. Ground beef

1:4 Cup Water
1 - 2 heads Romaine lettuce, thinly chopped
1/4 to 1/2 Cups sweet onions,*
1 Cup Cheddar cheese, grated
3 Carrots, sliced, cubed or grated
Western Salad Dressing
Tortilla chips, slightly crumbled

Tortilla chips, slightly crumbled
1. Brown ground beef; drain fat
2. Add seasoning and 1/4 cup water; simmer until liquid has evaporated
3. Grate cheese; chop or grate carrots, dice carrots
Now you can get creative!

a) Add some pico de gallo to the meat mixture; or salsa; or tomato sauce; even hot sauce
b) Add some diced fresh tomatoes; add some diced Jalapeños; improvise!
5. Toss lettuce, onions, whatever together
6. Add grated cheese and as much Western Salad Dressing as you like

7. You can either add in the slightly cooled meat mixture to the salad and top with tortilla chips, or let each individual assemble their own salad from here
