OLD-NEW FAVORITE KITCHEN TOOL

I've owned mine for 15 years or so. It's made to core pears. You drag the small loop down the center of a halved pear to remove the stringy part, and also the stem if desired. Then, scoop out the seeds with the round end.

I discovered early on that it's a great tool to seed a cucumber--just cut the cucumber length-wise and run the round end of the tool down the center to remove the seeds.

Recently I've begun seeding plum tomatoes with this same tool. Just quarter the tomatoes and use the round end to scoop out the seeds and pulpy membrane.

I've decided a few people on my Christmas list just can't live another year without one of these handy-dandy tools.
